Mission

Long Island Rap Blog exists to document and promote the rap music and hip-hop culture of Nassau and Suffolk counties. (Read "the rap music" in the voice of an old Jewish lady.) We share no affiliation with any record label, retail outlet, distributor, marketing agency or public relations firm (at least, not as of yet ;-), nor do we care to gripe about the differences between 'rap' and 'hip-hop.' We do welcome all thoughtful comments, complaints, rants, praise, submissions and suggestions related to this website; Long Island rap's past, present and future; or Long Island life and culture in general. To that end, this blog might explore topics outside of hip-hop, however, music that does not share some explicit connection to Long Island (meaning Nassau and Suffolk counties) will not be posted here.
